Word Choice


Find a brilliant example of word choice in this week’s text!  Write the entire sentence and explain why you chose it.

  1. Look at her,chatting with the captain like they're old friends.I chose chatting is because it made the character seem really friendly by talking to the captain like she knew him but she barley knew him.

      i agree with joey beause this did happen in the book and the other part is beacuse i like this sentance because it shows how much luke hates lyass a lot because thay are always fighting alot in the book so thats why i agree with joey

  3. "A mammoth explosion rocked the schooner, and for a moment, dusk was bright as day." I am choosing the word "mammoth" because it means large or big and i just really like that word becaust it is an intersesting word to use for saying something is large or big.

  4. i like the sentance luke flung himself back on his stomack and began to padel because it is very discriptiv the word flung is not just like jume or splashed but it was flung it sounds like he was in a hurry.

  5. Yesterday the swells had been like mountains, forcing the schooner to climb and descend, climb and descend from peak to peak.I chose the's words because they sound like double scope words.
